Person of the Crowd: The Contemporary Art of Flânerie

Person of the Crowd

As series of works, Over and Over uses pop lyrics to explore ideas of psychological control, the aesthetics of desire, consumption, and saturation.

The works uses language and typography as the mode of expression to visually reference the over-saturated, repetitive American pop culture landscape that surrounds people everyday. Over and Over are a series of “interventions” that appear in the city in the form of wheat pasted murals, stickers, zines, mugs, etc. These interventions attempt to interrupt one’s everyday cyclical activities for a period of personal inflection and thought.
